In the first study to find a link between fertility and e-cigarettes, British researchers have found harmful effects of vaping on women's ability to conceive and give birth.

  • The study analyzed blood samples from 8,340 women and found that those who smoked e-cigarettes or smoked traditional cigarettes had lower levels of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), which remained in their ovaries.

The study found that across all age groups, AMH levels were lower in vapers than in non-vapers.

Study author Dr Helen O'Neill - lecturer in reproductive and molecular genetics at University College London and chief executive of Hertility - said women should quit smoking to increase their health. chances of getting pregnant.

Ms. Helen added that women planning to become pregnant should be given clear instructions about not drinking alcohol, not vaping, not smoking, not using drugs...

“This is the first evidence showing a link between fertility and e-cigarette smoking in a large population. Research shows: AMH is inhibited in people who use vaping compared to those who do not use it. AMH is a hormone used to assess ovarian egg reserves. Smoking is like drinking alcohol. All of them limit pregnancy," she said.

There are concerns about increasing nicotine addiction in young children. Last month, the British government passed a law banning smoking for people born after 2009, and introduced new restrictions on e-cigarettes, including banning the sale and supply of disposable vapes.

Recently, a study by the World Health Organization in 44 countries showed that two-fifths of girls in England and Scotland had smoked e-cigarettes by the age of 15 - a higher rate than in other countries such as France, Germany and Spain. The study also found that girls are more likely to use vapes than boys.
