With GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs, you can multiply performance by up to 3x with DLSS 3. NVIDIA Reflex is a game-changer, reducing system latency on GeForce graphics cards and laptops.
Accuracy and precise timing are the keys to overcoming Diablo IV's toughest battles; NVIDIA Reflex reduces system latency, making gameplay smoother and more responsive, delivering the reaction time needed in critical moments. The latest GeForce Game Ready driver delivers an optimized experience with Ray Tracing, now available for download.
Ray Tracing: Shadows
Ray Tracing is a term that broadly refers to the ability of a game engine to create more lifelike images. For example, shadows created by the Sun are enhanced with Ray Tracing.
(Above) On the left, Ray Tracing is turned off, resulting in less sharp and less accurate shadows. On the right, the Ray Tracing feature is enabled - the shadows from the tree become much more realistic and vivid. Notice that the farther you look from the tree, the softer the shadow becomes.

RAY TRACING: REFLECTIONS
Ray Tracing also creates more realistic reflections on surfaces such as a still pond or a large mirror. This advanced feature can reveal more details around your environment, by not only giving depth to water reflections but also adding to the broader environmental storyline.
When Ray Tracing is enabled, you can see the reflection of the lightning ball on the water. One of the benefits of Ray Tracing is that it can also allow you to see a reflection of something off-screen, such as an off-screen rock face in the top right corner of the side image. below.
Ray Tracing will help provide more lifelike scenarios where you can see parts of the environment you've never seen before.
AMBIENT OCCLUSION
Diablo IV also has a feature called AMBIENT OCCLUSION, which measures how much a surface is obscured from surrounding shadows. In other words, it determines the extent to which surrounding objects prevent a surface or object from receiving light from a source such as a campfire or lantern. Now available on all platforms, the game has updated and enhanced Ambient Occlusion feature.
PC users using the 'Ultra Quality' preset Graphics option will notice this change the most, but it can be seen across all quality settings across all platforms.
CONTACT SHADOWS
Recently, the game also updated the Contact Shadows feature to apply to more characters in Sanctuary than before. Previously, Contact Shadows only displayed shadows around the player character, but now—at the highest graphics settings—includes shadows for all player characters, NPCs, and Monsters.
These are truly quality and interesting updates from the blockbuster Diablo 4.
