Recently, Samsung announced the Galaxy S24 series. Of the three phone models launched at the same time, only the S24 Ultra model is equipped with a chipset from Qualcomm, the S24 and S24+ models will be equipped with Exynos 2400 chipsets in certain markets including Europe. So what is the power of this new Exynos line?  

Exynos 2400 CPU on Samsung S24

The Exynos 2400 CPU has one powerful Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.2 GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores running at 2.9 GHz, and three Cortex-A720 cores running at 2.6 GHz. There are also four power-efficient Cortex-A520 cores, clocked at just 2 GHz. 

Samsung has confirmed the new chipset will deliver a 1.7x increase in CPU performance and a 14.7x increase in AI processing compared to its two-year-old predecessor, the Exynos 2200. The GPU is the Xclipse 940, based on the AMD's RDNA 3 architecture. 

The Exynos 2400 is built by Samsung Semiconductor on the 4nm LPP+ process and all cores are based on the ARMv9 architecture. It also comes with a new ISP and support for LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The AI ​​engine features 17K MAC NPU (2-GNPU + 2-SNPU), supporting up to 320 MP cameras on a single camera, while supporting video up to 8K @ 60 fps with 10-bit HEVC.

In terms of connectivity, the Exynos 2400 can work with GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo systems. 5G NR Sub-6Hz has uplink speeds of up to 9.64 GHz, while mmWave can reach up to 12.1 GHz. Note that the technical specifications used as an example are data taken from the Samsung Galaxy S24+
